Mike Dee(z) and Melixa Boyle are lucky enough to share a birthday weekend, and Lipgloss is lucky enough to have them celebrate it with us! Mike Dee(z) will be throwing down a guest DJ set, and we’re guessing that Melixa will be throwing down drinks at the same BPM.
We’ll be hosting the Official Interpol CD Release Party as well. Join us for a listen to the new self-titled album at 9PM, and be there at midnight as we give away copies of the album (it’s fantastic) and High Quality Vinyl pressings of their first two albums “Turn On the Bright Lights” and “Antics” (they’re beautiful).
There will be ticket giveaways for Autolux (Bluebird Theater, 9/12), Kele (Bloc Party) w/ Does It Offend You, Yeah! (Summit Music Hall, 9/14) and Midnight Madness@The Esquire (This Week: Conan the Barbarian).
Next week we’ll have FIGO in the house for a guest DJ set. FIGO is visiting from NYC in support of their new official remixes for A Place To Bury Strangers and Boxer Rebellion. The following week Sept. 24th, we’ll be celebrating Ginger Perry’s birthday at Lipgloss, She’ll join us for a guest DJ set and drunken revelry. And Oct. 1st, we’re especially excited to have guest DJ Alex English in the house. Alex runs a little party in NYC called Girls & Boys. G&B’s is one of only 4 parties in the country (that we know of) that has been around as long as Lipgloss. Alex’s party is currently held at Webster Hall where they boast pretty much the best line-ups around: Justice, MSTRKRFT, Boys Noize, Rusko & more have graced their DJ booth. Now he’s going to come see what this party called Lipgloss in Denver that I’ve been telling him about for 9 years is all about.
