Welcome to another installment of Lipgloss’s First Friday After-Party! Resident DJ’s boyhollow & Chase Dobson will be joined by guest DJ Ginger Perry, we’ll be holding the Hypernova CD Release Party and VJ D-Bom will be putting pretty things in front of your eyes.
Speaking of D-Bom, we’ll also be celebrating his birthday this Friday at Lipgloss! Though you can’t tell by looking at that boyish face, svelte figure & those sparkling eyes, D-Bom has added another year to his spectacular existence. Won’t you come by the DJ booth with a shot for him? Maybe if we get him real drunk we can get him to play Karate Kid 2 in its entirety…
Starting at 9pm we’ll play “Through the Chaos,” the new album by Hypernova. Hypernova is an Iranian rock band that defied the governmental ban on Western music and played many of their early shows in basements or out-of-town villas to avoid fines, imprisonment or flogging. Now based out of New York, they are soon to be on a US tour.
We’ll have giveaways of their album, free tix to Miike Snow (Ogden Theater on 4/9 w/ the Official After-Party & Miike Snow DJ Set at Lipgloss after), free tix to The Big Pink w/ A Place to Bury Strangers & boyhollow (Bluebird Theater, 4/11), free tix to MC Flip Side & Mighty Fools (Beta Nightclub, 4/8) and free tix to The Midnight Movies@The Esquire (This Week: The Breakfast Club).
