Hollow aka boyhollow
Hollow aka boyhollow
Hollow aka boyhollow is an old goth that plays music for hipsters, indie-rockers, bass-heads, gays, party kids, trannies, meat-heads, woo girls and even the occasional hippie. He doesn’t believe in writing bios containing a bunch of cliches about what an awesome DJ he is. He’d rather be making you dance.

He is the founder of Lipgloss (est. 2001), Denver’s longest running and most awarded club-night. Lipgloss pulls in over 500 people a week and consistently runs at capacity. Lipgloss was instrumental in - if not arguably responsible for - creating Denver’s indie dance scene. He is also resident DJ at Scumbag Sundays at Shag Lounge and founder and resident DJ of both Girls and Boys Denver and Porn and Chicken Denver.

He has worked with, performed at and produced parties with some of music’s biggest names: Passion Pit, The XX, Girl Talk, Miami Horror, The Juan Maclean, Miike Snow, Yeasayer, !!!, MSTRKRFT, Autoerotique, Figure, Mars Volta, Simian Mobile Disco, Steve Aoki, Bloody Beetroots, Chromeo, Calvertron, Le Castle Vania, Treasure Fingers, VHS or Beta, Le Tigre, Felix Cartal, Fake Blood, Blondie, Interpol, Phoenix, Boys Noize, Crookers, LCD Soundsystem, Guns'n'Bombs, Mustard Pimp, Junkie XL, LA Riots, The Faint, K.I.M. (The Presets), Chuckie, Cool Kids, Muse, Tommie Sunshine, The Klaxons, Devo, The Cars, Toxic Avenger, Daedelus, Snowden, RAC DJ's, The Motherfucking Gaslamp Killer, The Rapture, Airborne Toxic Event, Ghostland Observatory, The Bravery, She Wants Revenge, Mickey Avalon, Electric Six, Paparazzi, Paul Anthony, Bird Peterson, Hot Pink Delorean, Ladytron, Blaqk Audio, Peter Hook (Joy Division, New Order), Tim Burgess (The Charlatans), Andy Rourke and Mike Joyce (The Smiths), Spencer Moody (Murder City Devils), Marky Ramone (The Ramones), Stellastar*, Nadastrom, Anna Lunoe, Keane, Blondie and many more that have fallen into the drunken haze of time.

Currently involved in some exciting production and remixing work with artists like The Chaotic Good and Paul Anthony, keep your eyes and ears peeled for the new movement in Denver’s dance scene. It’s going to be a coup d'état of massive proportion.
Born in Colorado and transplanted to California, Brennen Bryarly, otherwise known as option4, has brought back to Denver a surge of music in every direction a grooving rhythm can go.

Growing roots in California's Bay Area hip-hop, to Denver raves, to New
Orleans' brass instrumented soul, to Texas' live music, and back to
Colorado again, option4 received and reciprocated as his reputation stemmed from a massive expanse of live venues.

Led into original productions by his cinema scoring father, option4's work was quickly drawn on by Girl Talk and DJ Kemistry. Full-scale option4 remixes of classic radio hits were thumping across club dance floors.

Founding Jrumatic Records in January of '09, option4's growing podcast with fans from as many places as he's lived brought fuel to the record
label's fire. Now focusing on the blossoming electronic scene in Denver, option4 is soaking up and churning out the rocky mountain culture with a wide array of local talent.

Signed on by State51 distribution in London, England, option4's debut
single, "Sunset Blvd", was picked up by dozens of music services and
featured on itunes' pan-european new releases page.

A national television appearance with the Dallas Mavericks, and sets
including Monolith Festival's Mainstage or other indie dance acts such as Holy Ghost!, sums up just the short amount of work he has sprinkled in while finishing up with his fast-approaching debut album.
Scandalized by experimental alternative and electronic music, New York's FIGO is vocalist/guitarist Parag Bhandari, bassist Paul Daly, guitarist Robert Rivadeneira, programmer Ryan Jones, and drummer Richard Stuverud. The band fuses intense live energy with pounding beats and samples, influenced by groups as diverse as Primal Scream, Pink Floyd, The Misfits, and The Chemical Brothers to name a few. FIGO also doubles as a two-man DJ crew, with Parag and Paul on the decks, who mix heavy house with punk and rock. With a 4-song EP released in late 2006, FIGO has been busy this past year, garnering a strong fan-base through both live and DJ gigs at clubs across the country. On their own, the band has already appeared at major music festivals like Amsterjam and SXSW, licensed music to the likes of CMJ Magazine and Marlboro, and have shared bills with artists such as The Presets, MOTOR, …Trail Of Dead, She Wants Revenge, and Foo Fighters. FIGO will release a new EP and remix compilation this Spring 2008.

They have recently completed a remix for A Place To Bury Strangers and 'Ego Death" (out now on Mute Records). Also soon to be released is a remix for The Boxer Rebellion (currently featured in the movie Going The Distance).

Here is some recent press:

"The delicate mix of electro and rock is one that only a few acts have had the musical dexterity to handle. Immediate names that spring to mind - Primal Scream, Kasabian, Chemical Brothers - are part of a very short list. But another to be added is New York outfit FIGO, wh...o are delivering the rock/dance crossover with equal style and sonic craftsmanship and making waves with their noise-laden, guitar-driven electro-punk."

"A Place To Bury Strangers always makes us want to break shit, and this electro-emo FIGO remix of "Ego Death" is no exception. It's sinister, damaged, smoking—like that older kid you had a thing for in middle school. It'll only hurt you, but you already knew that. Embrace the bone-shaking strobe below, and pick up Exploding Head on Mute right here."

"One of the thickest, noisiest guitar bands out there gets their track "Ego Death" remixed and then gets turned into one of the heaviest electro tracks I've heard in a long time. A Place To Bury Strangers' track "Ego Death" remixed by FIGO is still dark and alluring. Quite gothic at times."

"This FIGO mix turns down the face melting guitars, until the end at least, and transforms the Brooklyn trio's attack into a pummeling Soulwax/Justice affair. Multiple layers of synths make the track even more hypnotic."
