Emerging from Kyle Simmons’ solo project—Girl Named Kyle—Speakeasy, Tiger has slowly outgrown its folk rock genre and become something entirely new. The band combines Kyle’s distinctive vocals with powerful guitar, bass, drum, keyboard and synthetic backgrounds, leaving the listener with impressions of such bands as Shiny Toy Guns and No Doubt. Other major influences have included Muse and The Killers.

Kyle Simmons, who commands the lead vocals with her unique voice, has already established herself firmly as a talented musician playing shows as a solo artist. Her lyrics are best described as honest, talking straight from the soul.

Pete Schmidt, a classically trained pianist, displays his passion for music with the energy he displays on stage. Taking over synth and keytar duties as well, he demonstrates his versatile styles and amazing understanding of music. He has been all over the nation with his upright piano, Arlene.

Lauren Gale played many instruments as she grew up, more or less falling into the position of bass after handling promotions for Girl Named Kyle for a number of years. With an addiction to low frequencies, she has to play a 5-string bass. Lauren graduates from CU Denver with a BS in Music Industry Studies in May of 2009.

Luke Gordon, formerly of The Murder Formula, comes into the band with a background in hard-hitting music and an obvious talent for technical work on his drums. Working with ST, he has shown that he is not a one-trick pony. His creative beats accent every note and melody, driving and directing the song.

Tavis Alley, newest to the band, comes with a unique style on the guitar. Being self-taught and having exposed himself to a vast array of music, he is willing to think outside of the box. His passion and dedication to the art and life of music is exemplified in the sounds he creates. With a sunny disposition, he helps create a light atmosphere within the band. The band is working intently on writing new material for shows beginning in January.

We’re excited to share our new music with you soon!
